LATEST NEWS NEW PROJECT: RISSB Code of Practice for Rail Safety Worker Reference Checking – Call for Development Group MembersRISSB is beginning work on a Code of Practice for Rail Safety Worker Reference Checking and is seeking interested parties who are subject matter experts to join the Development Group which will assist the author in producing the document.
The Scope of the Code of Practice will be to establish Australian rail industry protocols for the sharing of relevant safety-related information in a confidential manner between former employers and a prospective employer at time of selection, with the permission of the prospective employee. The purpose of this is to ensure that prospective employers are fully aware of the safety history of any rail safety worker which they may be hiring. It is envisaged that the protocol would be based on the model used by the financial services industry as outlined by Standards Australia Handbook “HB 322-2007 Reference Checking in the Financial Services Industry”.
Interested parties should contact RISSB Manager Safety and Operations Alex Borodin aborodin@rissb.com.au via email with a short description of themselves and their organization (if applicable) by COB Friday 17 September 2010.
