Call for Development Group Members – Guideline on the Safe Use of Mobile Phones and Electronic Devices in the Railway Network


CALL FOR DEVELOPMENT GROUP MEMBERS – GUIDELINE IN THE SAFE USE OF MOBILE PHONES AND ELECTRONIC DEVICES IN THE RAILWAY NETWORK

The Rail Industry Safety and Standards Board (RISSB) is seeking nominations from people to join a Development Group to develop a new Guideline – The Safe Use of Mobile Phones and Electronic Devices In the Railway Network – to support the National Rules.

Overview
This Guideline will provide advice on how to avoid safety incidents resulting from the unsafe use of mobile phones and electronic devices in the railway network.

How to contribute
Stakeholders and interested parties are invited to submit nominations for subject matter experts to join this Development Group to contribute to the overall depth and quality of the Standard.

Development Group membership is voluntary and requires the support of your organisation to attend and contribute. There will be 4 meetings over the development period – 2 face-to-face (expected in February 2019 and May 2019) and 2 teleconferences (November 2018 & June 2019). Further information on the responsibilities of a Development Group member can be obtained from the RISSB website.
