AS7718 – Signal Design Process Management – Open Consultation
The draft of RISSB AS7718 – Signal Design Process Management has been released for open consultation.
AS7718 Signal Design Process Management aims to provide the Australian rail industry with a set of mandatory and recommended requirements for the signalling design management process.
The main purpose is to promote a consistent approach to the signalling design process across the Australian rail industry.
This comprehensive process, will substantially reduce the risk when developing the design as all aspects are considered in this process which will lead to:
- Shortening of the implementation period
- Reduce the need for redesign
- Enable transferability of people
- Having a standard process
- Reduction in errors
- Potential reduction in costs
The draft of the standard is now available for open consultation.

Stakeholders are invited to submit comments on the draft, and it is now available for download from the RISSB website:
