Call for Development Group Members – Asset management systems guideline, and Reliability, availability, and maintainability (RAM) guideline
The Rail Industry Safety and Standards Board (RISSB) is seeking nominations from people to join RISSB Development Groups tasked with developing two new infrastructure products:
Asset management systems utilised for condition monitoring of rail infrastructure
The objective of this document will be to provide guidance to rail transport operator (RTO) contractors on:
• the supply of asset management systems that meet client requirements, and
• the issues that the RTOs are facing such as reliability and maintenance issues of the rail assets.
Reliability, availability, and maintainability (RAM) for the Australian rail industry
The objective of this document will be to provide guidance to the transport industry on the selection and use of appropriate reliability, availability and maintainability (RAM) standards in the Australian rail transport context.
How to Contribute
Stakeholders and interested parties are invited to submit nominations for subject matter experts to join these Development Groups to contribute to the overall depth and quality of the products.
Development Group membership is voluntary and requires the support of your employer organisation to attend and contribute. Although it is difficult to quantify the exact level of effort required to review each of the products, it is anticipated that there will be 4 meetings over the development period (2 x face-to-face & 2 x teleconferences) spanning approximately 7 months.

As part of your nomination, can you please provide:
1. a brief outline of your interest or experience, relevant to the products;
2. which organisation you will be representing (if any); and
3. an indication of what industry group(s) that you identify with:
• Producers / Suppliers
• Users / Consumers
• General Interest.
Your information will assist us in ensuring a balanced representation from all major interest categories in the development of this document.
