Call for Development Group Members – AS 7633 Railway Infrastructure: Clearances (REVIEW)

The Rail Industry Safety and Standards Board (RISSB) is seeking nominations from people to join a Development Group to review AS 7633 Railway Infrastructure: Clearances.

Overview
This Standard specifies clearance requirements for the various track classifications in Australia as defined in AS 7630 Track Classification.

This Standard describes requirements in design, construction, commissioning, inspection, monitoring, maintenance, modification and decommissioning for clearances between rolling stock, fixed trackside structures and passing clearances between rolling stock on adjacent tracks.  This review of the Standard is to ensure that it meets these requirements.

This Standard does not cover temporary structures such as formwork and scaffolding covered by special operating conditions or vegetation control.

How to contribute
Stakeholders and interested parties are invited to submit nominations for subject matter experts to join this Development Group to contribute to the overall depth and quality of the Standard.

DG membership is voluntary and requires the support of your organisation to attend and contribute. There will be 4 meetings over the development period – 1 face-to-face (expected in late August) and 3 teleconferences (September, November & December). Further information on the responsibilities of a Development Group member can be obtained from the RISSB website.

All nominations and enquiries are to be submitted to amcdermott@rissb.com.au

As part of your nomination, can you please provide a brief detailing your contact details, your interest in this development (materially affected party, subject matter expert, etc.), and any other information which might support your participation.
