Call for Development Group Members – AS 7663 Railway Signal Cables
The Rail Industry Safety and Standards Board (RISSB) is seeking nominations from people to join a Development Group to review Australian Standard® – AS 7663 Railway Signal Cables.
This Standard will set out the minimum requirements for signalling cables to minimise the risk of asset failures and of harm to personnel working with, or in the vicinity of, signalling cables.
This review will cover all signal cable requirements, including:
- Power cables (external)
- Multi-core cables (external
- Twisted pair cables (external)
- Traction bonding cables
- Track connection cables
- High frequency track circuit cables
- Quad axle counter cables
- internal cabling
- SSI data cables.
How to contribute
Stakeholders and interested parties are invited to submit nominations for subject matter experts to join this Development Group to contribute to the overall depth and quality of the Standard.
Development Group membership is voluntary and requires the support of your organisation to attend and contribute. There will be 4 meetings over the development period – 2 face-to-face (expected in March and June 2020) and 2 teleconferences (January 2020 & September 2020).
