Call for Development Group Members – Code of Practice – Building Information Modelling
The Rail Industry Safety and Standards Board is seeking nominations from people to join a group to develop a RISSB Code of Practice – Building Information Modelling (BIM)
The aim of this CoP is to provide the rail industry with a guide to the use of information management standards and technology which would enable the rail industry to better manage projects which are currently characterised by time delays, materials waste and cost overruns during the ongoing operations and maintenance stages of the asset lifecycle.
- The BIM CoP would outline the use of information management standards and technology to capture, explore, and maintain consistent and coordinated planning, design, construction, and operational data.
- Provide direction on the provision and use of BIM to achieve greater project insight for cost, schedule, and constructability
- The use and sharing of the same consistent data been connect rail infrastructure systems both internal of the Rail Infrastructure Maintainer and external to rail operators and the overall supply chain
