Call for Development Group Members – Guideline on Configuration Management for Railway Contractors
The Rail Industry Safety and Standards Board (RISSB) is seeking nominations from people to join a RISSB Development Group to draft a Guideline on Configuration Management for Railway Contractors.
The objective of this Guideline is to provide an easy reference for contractors in the railway industry on how to align their management of changes to the configuration of a client’s railway network during execution of a contract.
The scope of the document will cover the planning for configuration management including configuration identification, planning and control in relation to a client’s network. It will include the responsibilities of contractors in relation to carrying out functional and physical configuration audits and establishing various configuration baselines during the contracting process.
How to contribute
Stakeholders and interested parties are invited to submit nominations for subject matter experts to join this Development Group to contribute to the overall depth and quality of the Guideline.
DG membership is voluntary and requires the support of your employer organisation to attend and contribute. There will be 4 meetings over the development period, 2 face-to-face (expected in August and November) and 2 teleconferences (December/January). Further information on the responsibilities of a Development Group member can be obtained from the RISSB website.
