Call for Development Group Members – Train Horn Use Code of Practice

The Rail Industry Safety and Standards Board (RISSB) is seeking nominations from people to join a Development Group to create a new Code of Practice that provide guidance on the use of train horns. This publication will continue RISSB’s work as part of the National Rail Action Plan by looking at the environmental impacts of noise. The recently released RISSB paper on train horns and ongoing research from the Australian Centre for Rail Innovation will be key focus points for this work.

This publication will cover areas including:

  • Current practices
  • Risk management
  • Human interaction
  • Environmental impacts
