The draft of RISSB AS 7716 Signal Testing Process has been released for open consultation.
The purpose of AS 7716 Signal Testing Process is to outline requirements that describe the testing of all types of signalling equipment and systems which form part of the signalling systems in Australian railway corridors.
The Standard covers design, production and maintenance including detailed testing processes and performance requirements for individual items of equipment and systems.
It provides a set of mandatory and recommended requirements to manage the identified industry hazards by identifying the risks associated with the signals testing processes.
AS 7716 is applicable for use by RIMs, operators and suppliers of signals testing processes. It is intended to be applied to both new installations and upgrades.
This Standard has been written to be used in conjunction with AS 7717 Signal Testing and Commissioning Management.
AS 7716 specifies the accepted criteria that should be employed when testing of all types of signalling equipment which form part of the signalling systems on the Australian Railway Network.
The draft of the AS 7716 Signal Testing Process is now available for open consultation.
