Railway Level Crossing Incident Costing Model
The RISSB has developed a ‘user-friendly’ equation model for industry to uniformly calculate the costs of railway level crossing incidents.
The model has been built around three main catagories: Human Costs, Propert Damage and Other Costs. Users are prompted to insert details about individual incidents to calculate the total cost. Hosted within an EXCEL spreadsheet, the model includes instructions, frequently asked questions and a definitions page.
Where specific figures are unknown, the spreadsheet adopts default costs. View the accompanying report which details where the default costs have been derived.
