The Rail Industry Safety and Standards Board (RISSB) is seeking nominations to join a Development Group to review AS 7472 Railway Operations – Management of Change.
How will this help the rail industry?
Changes to railway operations may vary in complexity and risks. AS 7472 assists RTOs to identify and mitigate potential risks associated with changes to ensure a safe and productive transition.
The adoption of AS 7472 Railway Operations – Management of Change will provide RTOs with a common and harmonised approach for managing risk as part of organisational change. It provides a systematic approach for managing change within a rail safety environment.
Management of change is relevant and necessary for RTOs as the industry moves towards implementing new technologies and innovative work practices.
About
AS 7472 Railway Operations – Management of Change is undergoing a review which will consider the methodologies applicable to managing change within a rail safety environment including the requirement for managing risk as part of the change process. Effective change management focusses on the human side of change acknowledging that people will be affected by change and will require support, consultation and training.
Time commitment
Development Group membership is voluntary and requires the support of your organisation to attend and contribute. There will be 6-8 meetings held between June and December 2025. Further information on the responsibilities of a Development Group member can be obtained from the RISSB Website.
How to contribute
Stakeholders and interested parties are invited to submit nominations for Subject Matter Experts to join this Development Group to contribute to the overall depth and quality of the product.
