Safety Critical Operational Information Code of Practice Update
This Code, which covers the collation, and dissemination, of safety critical information is currently under final review by the Development Group for sign off. The Code covers documentation such as train notices, speed restriction notices, and other documents that contain safety critical information for those working inside the rail corridor. The Code also
considers new technologies and means for rail transport operators to gain assurance that the information has been read and understood.
Recruitment And Training Of Network Control Officers Code of Practice Update
The Development Group met last week to discuss the 2nd draft and what changes need to be adopted. A strong discussion was held on a number of subjects, including desirable traits of network control officers, risk base training needs analysis assessment, and what qualifications trainers and mentors should hold. A new draft has been developed and issued for review, with the
group reforming in late July to discuss this before a likely issue for public consultation in late August.
