This document describes requirements for the structural strength of freight vehicles.
The structural requirements for freight locomotives are covered by RDS 7520.1.
The main purpose of the requirements is to prescribe the minimum structural integrity level of the freight vehicle to ensure safe performance under normal and extreme operating conditions.
