SPAD/LRTAE Activity Full Steam Ahead The industry group involved in the development of a industry wide proforma for SPAD investigations and, separately, LRTAE investigations, is meeting today to advance this project.
Feedback from the rail organisations involved has been collated and the plan is to develop a draft form by early next year for further discussion.
Good Practice in Mitigating Safety Risks When Planning Works In The Rail Corridor - Guideline This Guideline has received unanimous approval by the Development Group this week, and is now under consideration by the Operations Standing Committee. This Guideline fills a gap in RISSB’s products and is being considered inclusion in our upcoming training program. Expect to see this Guideline available in the coming weeks.
AS 7703 Railway Signaling Power Supplies This Standard has been approved for publication by the Development Group and has now been forwarded to the Train Control Systems Standing Committee for final sign off.
It is expected that this very valuable Standard will be available to our members in January 2021.

Standard
Publication Name
AS 7640 Rail Management
Overview
The aim of this Standard is to assist rail infrastructure managers and other entities responsible for the selection, installation, and maintenance of rail by providing fundamental principles for rail management. This Standard establishes general principles for managing rail throughout its lifecycle in track, excluding design and manufacture. It is an overarching document that establishes a roadmap to a suite of other AS Standards containing details of various lifecycle stages of rail management. This Standard complements the requirements for designing and manufacturing of steel rails given in AS 1085.1 Railway track materials, Part 1: Steel rails.
